Djurgården talent Warren Ngana, 16, rejected Bayern and Juventus to join RB Leipzig, aiming to develop at the club where Benjamin Šeško also shines.

RB Leipzig have secured the signing of one of Sweden's most exciting young prospects, with 16-year-old Warren Ngana joining the Bundesliga side from Djurgården.

The highly rated central defender, who turned 16 earlier this month, was reportedly on the radar of top European clubs including Bayern Munich and Juventus. However, he opted for a move to Leipzig, a club known for developing young talent — a reputation recently reinforced by the rise of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško.

Djurgården confirmed the transfer on Friday and praised the young defender's rapid progression since joining their academy.

"It happened quickly. Warren was in our academy for just over a year, but he progressed extremely quickly and has the potential to become a top player," a club official stated. "A nice story and a good opportunity for his future. We made a deal that was very beneficial to everyone involved."

Ngana is already being monitored closely in Sweden, a country known in recent years for producing top attacking talents. The teenager made his debut for the Swedish U16 national team in February, earning two caps and showing maturity beyond his years at the international level.

At Leipzig, Ngana will look to follow in the footsteps of players like Dayot Upamecano and Josko Gvardiol, who blossomed at the club before earning big moves across Europe.
