Lukas Podolski, the renowned German footballer, has successfully transitioned into the culinary world with his chain of kebab restaurants, earning him the title of the Kebab King.
The legendary German footballer, Lukas Podolski, continues to play at the age of 39, currently for the Polish first division team Gornik Zabrze, a club he is a huge fan of. Besides his football career, Podolski is also pursuing an entrepreneurial path, achieving such success that The Sun has dubbed him the Kebab King. He is estimated to be worth around 200 million euros.
A few years ago, he opened his first kebab restaurant named Mangal Doner, and since then, he has opened a total of 30 kebab restaurants. His kebab has been a massive hit in Germany for some time, but he recently saddened many fans with an announcement. Namely, the price of the kebab has increased. Instead of the previous five euros, it now costs 7.90 euros.
"I think the kebab is still very cheap, but we had to raise the prices. When you go to a pizzeria, you pay about 10 euros for a pizza, and all you get is dough, tomato sauce, and a bit of cheese. A menu at McDonald's will cost you the same as in my restaurant or even more, and there you'll get low-quality crap for food," Podolski stated on social media.
As a reminder, Podolski scored a total of 49 goals for Germany. Among others, he scored against Croatia at Euro 2008, when Slaven Bilić's team won 2:1 in the group stage.
Throughout his career, he has played for Köln, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter, Galatasaray, and Vissel, arriving in Poland from the Turkish club Antalyaspor.
With Germany, he won the World Cup in 2014, and he is the third-highest goal scorer and appearance maker in the history of the national team.
