The 100 footballers competing for the prestigious Golden Boy award have been announced.
Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport will once again select the best young player of the year in the Golden Boy (Zlati deček) awards. The list of 100 footballers vying for this prestigious title has been revealed.
The main favorite for the final victory is Barcelona's teenager Lamine Yamal, who has shown outstanding performances for the Catalan giant's first team this season.
Other top contenders include Joao Neves from Benfica, Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, Warren Zaire-Emery from PSG, among others.
No Slovenians made it to the top 100 this year; the strongest Slovenian representative in previous years was, of course, Benjamin Šeško.
The Balkans are also poorly represented. Although Bayern's Aleksandar Stanković, who has Serbian roots but plays for Germany, is included, the only representative on the list is Croatian defender Moreno Živković from Dinamo Zagreb.
