Real Madrid has broken its record for the number of consecutive unbeaten matches in the Spanish championship.
Real Madrid is in excellent form as the season concludes, having recently ended a streak of nine consecutive La Liga victories with a draw against Villarreal yesterday. Yesterday's match marked their 31st consecutive La Liga game without a defeat, setting a new club record.
Real Madrid's last loss was on September 24th, when they were defeated 3-1 by city rivals Atletico at the Metropolitano Stadium. Since then, they have gone on a 31-match unbeaten run, recording 24 wins and seven draws.
The previous record dated back to April 1989, when they went unbeaten in 30 consecutive La Liga matches.
During this record-breaking streak, Real Madrid players scored 76 goals and conceded only 20, keeping 18 clean sheets in 31 matches.
